Gait Analysis

Gait analysis is the study of walking and running. The London Podiatry Centre has one of the most advanced podiatric gait facilities in the world. We are the only UK podiatry clinic to offer quantitative three dimensional analysis using VICON. This effectively means that we can analyse walking and running in three dimensions so obtaining a unique in site into the possible causes for many types of injury.

An abnormality in walking or running often leads to injury and sub optimal performance. Once a patient has undergone a biomechanical assessment it is often essential to study how imbalances affect the walking and running cycle. By truly understanding the interaction between a patient's biomechanical profile and gait, our centre is often able to determine the exact cause for an injury.

The London Podiatry Centre is one of very few facilities to use gait to measure the biomechanical effects of treatment.
